Sayulita,

Mexico

May 24 — 31, 2025

the retreat:

Join Morgan O’Hare, Carter Miles, and the Present Practice Yoga community for an unforgettable 8-day Yoga Retreat and Intensive in beautiful Sayulita, Mexico. This transformative retreat is open to all levels of practice. Gift yourself the time and space to disconnect from your busy life so you can reconnect with yourself and your life like never before. Plus, you’ll have our incredible community to support and expand your experience.

The intention of this 7-night, 8-day retreat is to connect deeply to ourselves, community, and the world around us. The theme of this year’s annual Sayulita intensive is Power of Intention — we will explore what it means to live with intention and co-create the life we want to live. We will explore presence, self-knowledge, non-attachment, surrender, and purpose through the lens of yoga philosophy. The robust yoga programming on this retreat includes sunrise meditations overlooking the ocean, morning sessions that include breathwork, 75-90min yoga practices, and guided discussion and reflections around the theme of Intention, and afternoon workshops exploring topics such as backbends, handstands, functional breath training, nervous system regulation, and more.

The retreat will be a beautiful balance of introspective work through yoga, complimented with a rich sense of community, adventure, and culture. This retreat and intensive is all about living in alignment with your heart, and there’s truly no better place to embody these teachings than the jungles of Haramara.

Haramara retreat sayulita, mexico

You’ll fly into Puerto Vallarta, just 45 min from award-winning Haramara Retreat center, which is a luxurious eco-resort on 12 acres of seaside tropical jungle with a private and pristine beach, just outside of the surf town Sayulita.

Our group of yogis (30 to 50 in total) will have exclusive access to the entire retreat center, with two stunning, 360-degree view yoga shalas overlooking lush mountains and the ocean, equipped with yoga mats and props. There is an infinity-edge pool overlooking the ocean (we will spend a lot of time lounging here…), an open-air spa facility (perhaps the most magical massages and treatments you’ll ever experience…), and luxurious, open-air guest casitas that have no electricity, and at night are illuminated by oil lamps and candles, allowing you to disconnect from the chaos of everyday lives and deeply connect within.

The restaurant offers exceptional, creative, local cuisine that includes fresh and delicious organic gourmet meals. Start each morning with coffee, tea, and fruit to watch the sunrise. After our morning session, you’ll indulge in an amazing brunch. Lunches and dinners are 3-courses and are absolutely divine — all of the ingredients are local, fresh, and never frozen. Any seafood was caught that morning.

The Central Pacific Coast of Mexico is surrounded by jungle and receives approximately 345 days of sunshine per year. Located on the same latitude as the Hawaiian Islands, its sub-tropical climate is often compared to Hawaii’s.

There’s a reason we keep coming back! Experience the magic for yourself.

yoga & programming

Yoga teaches us to turn inward, make peace with the present moment, and open our hearts to life around us. This 8-day container, without the distractions of everyday life, offers the opportunity to truly connect with your deepest intentions. With all the distractions of life on pause, there is space to carve out your path and reconnect to your life with purpose and clarity. This retreat and intensive will include deep self-study, yoga practice, and connection with a wonderful community.

We will open our retreat with a cacao ceremony and intention setting. Each of our days will begin with a morning session, which includes a sunrise meditation overlooking the ocean, breathwork, a 75-90min all levels vinyasa flow practice, and group discussion and journaling centered around our theme.

Most afternoons include a three-hour workshop with Morgan and Carter, such as posture clinics for alignment, handstands and inversions, arm balances, and functional breath training. Most evenings will end with time to connect in community after dinner, often around the bonfire or playing games in the shala. Carter will guide the group through a powerful psychedelic breathwork journey to release blockages and stored emotions, and Morgan will guide the group through a powerful visualization exercise to gain clarity on how you want your life to feel (and walk you through tangible ways to make it a reality). We will close our retreat with a cacao and sharing ceremony. There will be plenty of free time during the day to relax, go to the spa, explore, and lounge at the pool.

This retreat is open to anyone willing to dive deep – all levels of practice are welcomed and encouraged. Additionally, if you are a 200-hour certified yoga teacher, you will receive 40 credit hours through Yoga Alliance at no additional cost through our robust programming.

our retreat center

Haramara Retreat is truly one of the most beautiful retreat centers and eco-lodges in the world. Imagine walking barefoot through the jungle, with no electricity or wifi but everything you could ever want in the moment, listening to the waves crashing and the birds singing, for 8 days in paradise. Because the casitas are spread across Haramara’s private 12 acres of land, you get to enjoy nature walks and light hikes between yoga and meals.

The casitas are completely open-air, and the beds have mosquito nets around them. The bathrooms overlook the jungle, and you can hear the ocean in the background. You can choose to have your own casita, or share a 2-bed, 3-bed, or 8-bed casita.

There is truly nothing like sleeping in the jungle, away from the distractions of everyday life, but fully taken care of in every way. The Haramara staff is truly like family and we cannot wait to be back.

WhAT We will do

On top of all the yoga, we will immerse ourselves in the local culture. Some of our activities include a short hike to the black sand beach, swimming in the ocean, exploring Sayulita town (you can walk or taxi), Temazcal ceremony (ancient sweat-lodge ceremony used in Native American and Mexican cultures for purification, prayer, and healing), and optional spa treatments.

The infinity-edge salt water pool overlooking the jungle and ocean is where you’ll want to spend a lot of your free time. You can also hike around the property with bare feet and explore what the jungle has to offer.

Ceremony is a huge component of this retreat. We will open our retreat with a ceremony to open our hearts and connect with our highest intentions. Halfway through the retreat, we will have a day dedicated to release, where we will participate in a powerful Temazcal ceremony for purification and healing. These ceremonies are held by local shamans and last several hours. Towards the end of the retreat, we will have a psychedelic breathwork journey to clear emotional blockages. Finally, we will close our retreat with a sharing-based ceremony. The community on this retreat is the most powerful part. We are so excited to have you be part of it.
